William and Kate spend morning closing deals at City broker IcapComments Off on William and Kate spend morning closing deals at City broker Icap
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge spent a morning “closing deals” on the trading floor of a City broker’s firm to raise cash for charity.
The Duke and Duchess joined Samantha Cameron at Icap’s 23rd annual fundraiser to raise cash for a range of charities.
Good causes included William’s patron charity SkillForce and Kate’s patron charities SportsAid and Place2Be.
The royal couple and Mrs Cameron arrived at about 11.30am, toured Icap’s Eldon Street offices and met charity reps before taking to the phones to speak to clients.
They reportedly closed deals totalling £360 million and traded between banks.
The entire day’s commission will be given to charity.
William took part in the day back in 2012, but Kate – who was due to be there – had to give it a miss after being hospitalised with severe morning sickness.

Other famous faces on the trading floor included Olympic sprinter Linford Christie, actress Carey Mulligan and broadcast journalist Jon Snow.
As well as working on the trading floor, Kate was pictured enjoying a spot of table tennis with SportsAid charity workers.
The day reportedly raised £8 million last year. Thirteen charities in all will benefit from Thursday’s event.
