Sales rocket for London office firm Citibase despite Brexit voteComments Off on Sales rocket for London office firm Citibase despite Brexit vote
Serviced office operator Citibase has shrugged off Brexit jitters in the property market to record its best ever sales quarter.
The firm which counts business centres in Millbank, Victoria and Finchley among the London offices it runs, said revenue from new contracts surged more than three-fold in the three months to July 31.
While the company did not divulge the value of the deals, it said a flurry of small and medium enterprises signed for new offices in the period.
Citibase boss Steve Jude said: “I believe Brexit matters less to many SMEs than to larger corporates. SMEs are more nimble and will continue exporting and operating regardless of the vote to leave the EU.”
He added: “Contrary to all the doom-mongers, SMEs have been quick to respond and find a solution to their office needs following the vote, both in the month before, during and after.”
The lettings will allay concerns that Britain leaving the bloc could weaken the UK’s image as a place for businesses to invest in.
