Candy, a non-executive director of Audioboom who made his name building luxury flats, snapped up 9.17 million shares at 5.88p each yesterday, according to Stock Exchange disclosures.
He now owns 24.82 million — 4.66% of the firm.
Described as “YouTube for audio”, it has 3.6 million users, adding 200,000 after signing up Brand.
It was created through a reverse takeover of Audioboo by One Delta last May and is listed on the London Stock Exchange’s junior market AIM.
In March, it hit a record for downloads of its app, helped by the launch of its Android app, and added 150 content partners.
It now has tie-ups with the BBC, talkSport, Guardian and Absolute Radio.
Today shares in the company rose 1.25p to 8.375p.
