Luxury goods lovers flocked to Lulu Guinness’ Covent Garden pop-up store last month en masse, helping the firm bag a 48% surge in Christmas sales.
The British handbag maker whose fans include singers Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera, added that a pre-season spring/summer launch also fuelled the sales rise between December 18 and January 3.
As well as the pop-up ,the brand has a handful of other London shops.
Plans for this year include focusing on expanding in the Middle East, Asia And online retail.
Most recently it opened shops in Dubai, Thailand, Taiwan and China.
The festive strong performance will be welcomed by Lulu Guinness Holdings which recorded flat sales of £9.5 million in the year to March 29.
It closed two stores during the period resulting in a pretax loss of £253,181.
The company was founded in 1989 when Lulu Guinness was 29.
The initial concept was a briefcase for women which morphed into an idea for vintage style bags.
