Hundreds more lines of designer shoes, clothes and handbags are heading to London, with a record number of international luxury brands strutting into the capital in 2015.
Fashion houses such as Versus Versace whose designs have been spotted on ex-One Direction star Zayn Malik, Balmain and Alexander Wang are the fashion houses that opened their first UK stores in London so far this year.
Two days ahead of London Fashion Week kicking off, research from property agent Savills predicts by the end of 2015 four more luxury brands will make their London shop debut.
New arrivals will include shoe group Aquazzura.
Last year there were 6 openings while in 2012 there was just one.
Anthony Selwyn, head of central London retail at Savills said: “London continues to be a global ‘shop window’ for retailers and provides a strong international platform to showcase brands. We anticipate more European and international retailers will want to expand in London.”
According to the British Fashion Council, the fashion industry is worth £26 billion to the UK economy.
