Spencer invested more than £2 million earlier this year in the app, which provides a full dry cleaning and laundry collection and delivery service using a network of dry cleaners around the capital.
The firm was launched in January by Ed Relf, a tech entrepreneur and former marketing chief at the Moshi Monsters games creator MindCandy, drawing other big City investors backing the business include Sports Direct tycoon Jeff Blue.
The move for its major competitor comes as the company cleans its 250,000th item since launching five months ago.
The combined business plans to expand beyond London, Birmingham and Edinburgh shortly.
Laundrapp cleans an item every 10 seconds and has had 100,000 downloads so far.
