A £200 million for-sale sign was hoisted over the last piece of jailed ex-poker star and property fraudster Achilleas Kallakis’ empire in St James’s on Tuesday.
Owner, Green Property, today put the 60,000-square-foot office block at 8 St James’s Square — to be sold by CBRE — on the market.
The property has recently been given a luxurious makeover and now commands some of the highest office rents in London. Deals at £185 per square foot have been agreed there.
Before its revamp, the site was part of a portfolio owned by a firm affiliated to Kallakis, who was known as “The Don” on the international poker circuit.
Green bought them in 2008 from Allied Irish Bank. Kallakis was jailed in 2013 for conspiracy to defraud and duping loans out of AIB.
The block is let to firms including Société Générale and art dealer Helly Nahmad Gallery.
Offers in excess of £200 million are expected to be made for the property.
