Icap bags insurance veteran Stuart Bridges as its new finance chiefComments Off on Icap bags insurance veteran Stuart Bridges as its new finance chief
Bridges, who has held the same post at Lloyd’s underwriter Hiscox since 1999, will replace the highly-rated Iain Torrens, who quit Icap to join TalkTalk last year.
“Stuart brings valuable experience and an impressive track record in the global financial services industry and I am delighted that he is joining Icap,” Spencer, the former Conservative Party treasurer, said.
“It is an exciting time to be joining Icap: we are focused on investing further in expanding our product portfolio and services,” Spencer added.
Hiscox said that Bridges will remain in his current post until August 31, but that it had already started searching for his replacement.
“His steadiness under fire, particularly demonstrated in the aftermath of the terrible events of 9/11, testing hurricanes in 2005 and the financial crisis, has been of immense value to the group,” the insurer’s chairman Robert Childs said.
Icap is an inter-dealer broker, meaning it acts as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of complex products ranging from foreign exchange to commodities.
