The retailer is set to take on domestic rivals like FAO Schwarz by opening in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.
This will expand a global footprint that already includes 49 stores across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
“We’re looking at opportunities in the US as well as through franchise partners in lots of other markets all over the world,” finance director Alasdair Dunn told Property Week.
The group is also looking for sites in Australia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Prague and Vienna. William Hamley opened its first store in 1760 and the company has occupied its flagship store on Regent Street since 1881.
Hamleys was bought by French retailer Groupe Ludendo for £60 million in 2012.
