Luca’s son Matteo, a former investment banker with Goldman Sachs, will run Montezemolo & Partners UK from plush new offices at 3 St James’s Square, the Standard has learnt.
The move to the capital, aided by agent Juszt London, comes after Matteo’s father stepped down from Ferrari last year after nearly 23 years following disagreements with the chief of parent company Fiat.
Seven months ago Montezemolo & Partners launched a new fund that had €400 million (£281 million) at its first closing, and some of this is expected to be used here.
The group was not available to comment on what type of businesses it plans to back in the UK, but outside Britain it has backed furniture and telematics companies.
Landlord Welput, which is advised by Quintain, achieved significantly more than the £135 per square foot rent, set by agents Colliers International and Strutt & Parker.
