DLKW Lowe joins ad agencies’ West End exodus with Old Street moveComments Off on DLKW Lowe joins ad agencies’ West End exodus with Old Street move
Landlord Helical Bar announced that DLKW Lowe, which counts Unilever, Post Office and Morrisons as clients, will ditch South Kensington in favour of a 15-year lease for around 45,000 square feet at its C Space office building on City Road.
The former carpet factory has been transformed by Helical Bar into a modern office, which retains the character of its industrial past. The building will be finished in August.
Matthew Bonning-Snook, development director at Helical Bar, said: “We made a call on the Old Street/Shoreditch area in 2012, with three purchases. It is now pleasing to see that the type of product we are delivering is right for this market.”
DLKW Lowe joins rivals who have left the West End in search of cheaper rents and increasingly trendy areas.
Omnicom struck a deal last year for 370,000 square feet on the South Bank, while Publicis signed up for offices on the old Turnmills nightclub site on Clerkenwell Road in Farringdon.
