Barclays down: Customers struggle to get into online banking accountsComments Off on Barclays down: Customers struggle to get into online banking accounts
Barclays’ online banking service is experiencing “technical difficulties”, the bank has confirmed, with users reportedly unable to use their cards or access their accounts.
A spokeswoman said this afternoon: “We’re aware that some customers are experiencing problems making purchases and withdrawals using their debit cards.
“Customers using online banking and some features of Barclays Mobile Banking may also receive errors. We’re urgently investigating this.”
Dismayed shoppers and workers took to social media on Friday afternoon to ask the bank what was being done to resolve the problem.
Among those affected were Rebecca Breen (@RebeccaLBreen), who tweeted: “It’s payday and @Barclays is down #worstdayever.”
