Lingerie brand Ann Summers is aiming to take a slice of the rapidly growing online dating market with a new app, boss Jacqueline Gold said.
The chief executive told the Standard “our future is about innovation” as she outlined plans for a new app called Rabbit to launch next month.
It comes after the retailer, whose designs are worn by TOWIE reality TV star Jessica Wright, surveyed over 1000 Brits on dating habits.
It found more than half of 18-34-year-olds use dating apps, while 70% of those aged 35-44 use them.
As well as the new app, turnover is expected to be boosted by buyers splashing out on the Moregasm sex toys range which launched in August.
Ann Summers returned to the black in the year to 27 June with a pre-tax profit of £1 million compared with a £3.9 million loss the prior year.
Sales rose to £104.8 million from £101.2 million.
