Africa Utopia at Southbank Centre

Comments Off on Africa Utopia at Southbank Centre

Discover some of the wonders of African culture as the Southbank Centre once again hosts Africa Utopia.

Quickly becoming a fixture in London’s festival calendar, Africa Utopia is now in its third year and is bigger and better than ever before.

Looking to present and celebrate a diverse array of talent from the continent and the African diaspora, the festival explores how African art and ideas can make a bigger impact on the world and change it for the better.

Boasting a line-up of star performers and guests with African roots or connections, this three-day celebration shows off ways in which Africa can lead the way in terms of culture, technology, fashion, sustainability, community and ethical wealth creation.

Join some of the continent’s best-loved and most recognisable musicians and artists as they discuss, debate and perform in the company of experts, activists and entrepreneurs.

Highlights from previous years have included performances by the Kinshasa Symphony Orchestra and Mulatu Astatke, the godfather of Ethio-jazz.
